Conscience in Its Age by Benedict XVI (Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger)

Conscience in Its Age by Benedict XVI (Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger)

It is in reading passages like this that I am reminded of my wish to adopt more resolutely the Christian faith in the nobility of the suffering godhead, as I witness Pope Benedict XVI here lay out three literary possibilities in which conscience serves as enemy of power, an exposition that makes me jealous of the worldview which produces such thought. Notable is the section on the greatness of power which renounces its power, and reminiscent of /Lord of the Rings/.
